My artwork is driven by intuitive gestures, culled geometry, and repetitive patterning. These impulses are constantly influencing how I work. I may start with intuitive mark making or perhaps a recollection of shapes from the physical world. The work is informed through the observation of my environment and from the process and interaction with drawing and painting itself. I let experimentation guide me with the understanding that there is a constant interplay between what I see, what I want to see and what ends up being created. Painting is a perpetual relationship I have between me, the materials I use and what I want to the work to be.
I’m simply creating a visual representation of what and how I think.
