My work stems from a response to recurring shapes and patterns in the natural world. I am interested in environments with an ambiguous sense of scale; cellular, cosmic, aquatic, geometric.
I print from plates made of heavy card coated with layers of shellac. Due to its low grade nature, the surface of the plate decays and evolves as it is continually printed. The print becomes a palimpsest recording the passage of time through layering and concealment.
