PAM KEELEY

'Pinocchio, and Other Stories'

September 6-29, 2007

Keeley's work is typified by bare-naked drawing. Her compositions

contain images of small and beautiful childlike creatures, generally

engaged in feverish activity.

The spare drawings tell a tale of fact liberally entwined with fiction.

The simplicity of her line work eloquently expresses the human condition

of fragility and resiliency with unvarnished elation, innocence, anguish and passion.

Anchoring the show is ‘Pinocchio, and Other Stories’.  It’s a large canvas, 8’6” wide,

overpopulated with a dizzying array of small figures representing all kinds of characters,

from present day George W. Bush to courageous Max Person, circa 1917.

Pam Keeley has a BFA degree from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle,

and an MFA from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM.
